Loving how this builds tension through three totally different worldviews colliding! The pacing works fantastically here, and I just continue to love this concept of the haunting refrain - “will you be deciduous or evergreen”. So poetic. The worldbuilding feels huge, and you're pulling it off beautifully.
Sometimes when people say lovely things like this, I get a bit 'goofy' and accidentally says things like 'shucks, and gawsh'.
That's really kind, thank you. It's an interesting challenge needing to be so much more concise than I am used to and choosy with my scenes and cuts. But I'm loving it so far. Definitely your Mars book keeper and Avebury stories have both served as inspo. Particularly in the way that I wanted the story to be completely character driven rather than high concept.
