I love how you foreshadowed this happening, and yet I still didn't expect it! It was super exciting and I am concerned for how Lys is going to manage to shut it off, but also love that he is apparently strong and brave enough to do it 😏
I am delighted. I have definitely noted a distinct lack of drops in readership after chapter 3, and I think thats because the story seems to pivot quite a lot from internal mental health and cosy sci-fi vibes, to suddenly there is a quasi-military guy dealing with trauma and explosions.
I am confident though that in the new draft I am plotting, these will be much more seamlessly woven together. All that said, all of this will still be present, so I am glad you are enjoying it.
For sure! My little hiatus from reading is to do with adhd brain rather than disinterest 🙃 I am still enjoying it. Although, I’ll need a new wine pairing for the next chapter I think

Weirdly, maybe a German or Australian Riesling. German Rieslings can be very vibrant and have loads going on. They're a bit broken in that they can be super austere yet really full at the same time. Relying on intelligent placement on riverside steep hills (steep to the point that the winemakers literally have little rollercoaster-like trucks they go up and down on to harvest and prune).
Australian ones are less crazy in their geography but crazier in their flavour. The unique geography and vine genetics make Riesling that ages with this lime zest flavour that slowly becomes a bit tar/petrol in its aromatics. Which I know sounds awful... but it's weirdly twistingly good. It makes you want to come back for more.
